Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

There is a great article in the Charlotte Observer from Saturday, January 31, 2009 about Sun City Carolina Lakes. Mark O’Brien, a Pulte vice president for sales in Charlotte gave the statistics for this community and compared our numbers
with 8 county regional sales. It was impressive. Several residents shared their stories. I also agree with [...]

Indian Land Gets Its Money Back

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

Indian Land will be getting its money back. As you may recall, when the zip code changed from 29715 to 29707, Indian Lands zip code was inadvertently designated as a York County zip code by the S.C. Department of Revenue. Therefore, sales tax from area businesses were deposited straight into York County funds and went to York [...]

Cruise ships are great. For anyone thats ever been on one - its an experience like no other. For one woman - an 89 year old widow - the cruise ship became her home for the past nine years! She decided that it was just as affordable as retiring in an adult community. Imagine that: A [...]

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Changing our zip code from 29715 to 29707 has apparently sent local tax revenue to the wrong county. The new 29707 zip code was designated as a York County zip code by the SC Department of Revenue. 30 Indian Land Business paid sales tax revenue to York County which went into York County’s pennies for [...]
