Calling All Newcomers! Our area has become a magnet for newcomers, and we all bring our own traditions, habits and assumptions – our own cultures. The combination of old and new enriches our area, but also creates some challenges. Beginning on February 14, the Levine Museum will be sharing with us how our region is dealing with this growing cultural diversity and change – the “Changing Places: From Black and White to Technicolor” will be an informative and thought-provoking exhibit. You will get to see examples of how “things were done before”.

Winter Arts & Crafts for Grandkids!

Winter Arts & Crafts for Grandkids! Celebrate the Chinese New Year by crafting your own Chinese dragon puppets at the Mint Museum in Charlotte (704-337-2050) on Sat., Feb. 13. While you are there, stop by the “A Life in Vibrant Color” exhibition on display only for the month of February. Then on the next Sat., Feb. 20 you can head out to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens

for a children’s art weekend.
