Veterans benefit

By Buzz | April 27, 2008

Many people are unaware of a benefit that the Veteran’s Administration offers to veterans !  Many of the older veterans (WWII and Korea) are having very tough times now and there is a benefit that could help them pay for some of their necessary medical costs and/or healthcare assistance in their home or nursing home.  This is a benefit paid to wartime veterans who have limited or no income and who are age 65 or older.  There are many older veterans who are in desperate need of this benefit and are not even aware that they are eligible!!  Many of our Sun City residents have parents who may be eligible for this benefit!    Wartime veteran does not mean that you actually had to go to war–it applies to the time you served in the military under stated wartime military involvement.

Dick, yes you could qualify because you served at least one day under wartime conditions even if you actually were just posted in the US. There are some income limits but as far as your service time you would qualify. I have been studying this benefit for some of my clients parents who were in WWII so I can help you if you want to call me 803-548-2586.
